Hand question, and more PP 10+1 madness

In the Party 10+1 SNGs, I've been struggling with AQ lately, esp. with a raise ahead of me. Sometimes it looks like AK to me, sometimes like AT. Anyway, in the first hand below, I wasn't too happy with my PF call even as I was making it. But I got the flop I wanted (or deserved, maybe) and figured I was more often ahead than behind the hands she would play that way (in the absence of any read, considering her as a typical PP 10+1 player). Play this differently? On all streets?

I don't think I would have pushed all-in here. With a 3BB raise, you could put him on a lot of hands, so you need to see how strong he is. Pre flop you could re-raise, if you get reraised back, you can put him on a big pocket pair or AK. Or, if you just call PF, on the flop....when he bets out, I raise maybe the size of the pot. I guess at this point you're pretty pot committed, but if he reraises you, you have to put him on a hand better than TPTK and you can lay down and maybe hope to come back later. Just a thought.

I can't find any fault with your play on the flop. Many people who raise pre-flop will automatically bet on the flop, so he could have anything.

The 125 is kind of an odd bet for him. Sometimes players with AA get a case of fancy-play-syndrome and make odd looking bets like this. Unfortunately, with a hand as strong as TPTK, I'd push my stack in here too.

There's no way you can call or make a small re-raise....if he has a hand, all his chips (and yours) will be going into the pot soon enough, so you might as well put him to the test sooner rather than later.

As for the call pre-flop.....I've been folding AQ a lot lately in these spots (in the early stages of the SNG). If he is a reasonable player, he must have a very good hand to raise UTG. In addition, there are several people left to act behind you, and I definately don't want a multiway pot with AQo.

If you feel he is a solid player, you should fold here. If you think he could be raising with anything, you should re-raise pre-flop and isolate him.

I dont like even playing A-Q early, and calling raises with it is a no-no for me. At least until it gets down 4-handed.

Those last two - I have a hard time believe that was a money game. I hope you cashed in those two. Looks like I need to start playing the tens.

One of the reasons AQ is the classic trap hand is because when you get your flop, it looks really good for you and makes it hard to get away from the hand. That said, this is Party 10+1, it's not the WSOP. People will raise with a lot of hands, even UTG.

I think you have to rely on the raiser's history. If they've been raising a lot, AQ could be a big hand. If you haven't seen them raise yet, I'd err on the side of caution. One of the things about Party is you don't get a ton of chips to speculate with.
