I need to improve my player reading ability, any books that can help with that?
Also I was curious about turbo texas hold em, is it worth the 90 dollars? |

Re: books for reading players
Three books immediately come to mind:
Books of Tells by Mike Caro The Psychology of Poker by Alan N. Schoonmaker, Ph.D. Inside the Poker Mind by John Feeney, Ph.D. Turbo Texas Hold'em depends on where you are in your poker development. I found it to be a very good tool to learn preflop strategy. I put an outline of starting requirements next to the computer, and zipped through hundreds of deals until I could do it without the outline. Playing a lot of games can also give you good practice in learning to read the board, figure out possible hands your opponents might have, count your outs, figure out the nuts, things like that. Routine expereince without having to pay tuition. From there, the next step is to play online, starting at the lowest limits, and move up when you can routinely beat a level. Many people use Turbo to run simulations on various situations, but I haven't gotten that far yet. |

Re: books for reading players
If you play limit poker I would add Real Poker II The play of Hands which has a nice section on reading hands.
