Default Good call down?

I figured this guy for overcards to my eights considering his raise wasnt to big. and his continual betting on the board wasnt to intimidating so i continued to call thinking he had just overcards.

Party Poker Pot-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (8 handed)

Button ($25.95)
SB ($20.35)
BB ($33.60)
Hero ($34.70)
UTG+1 ($111.30)
MP1 ($61)
MP2 ($25)
CO ($25)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. MP2 posts a blind of $0.50. CO posts a blind of $0.50.
Hero calls $0.50, UTG+1 folds, MP1 calls $0.50, <font color="CC3333">MP2 (poster) raises to $1</font>, CO (poster) folds, Button calls $1, SB calls $0.75, BB folds, Hero calls $0.50, MP1 calls $0.50.

Flop: ($6) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(5 players) </font>
SB checks, Hero checks, MP1 checks, <font color="CC3333">MP2 bets $2</font>, Button calls $2, SB calls $2, Hero calls $2, MP1 folds.

Turn: ($14) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(4 players) </font>
SB checks, Hero checks, <font color="CC3333">MP2 bets $4</font>, Button calls $4, SB folds, Hero calls $4.

River: ($26) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(3 players) </font>
Hero checks, <font color="CC3333">MP2 bets $6</font>, Button folds, Hero calls $6.

Final Pot: $38
<font color="#990066">Main Pot: $38, between Hero and MP2.</font> &gt; <font color="white">Pot won by Hero ($38).</font>

Results in white below: <font color="white">
Hero shows 8s 8h (one pair, eights).
MP2 shows As Qh (high card, ace).
Outcome: Hero wins $38. </font>

If this were headsup, it would be different.
Since it is not and if you believe you have the best hand, you should make a move at this pot with draws being out there.

I agree. Since this is not a secure hand (if an overcard comes you will be in trouble), you want to try to at least narrow the field. If you are sure that he's got overs, why not raise to try to isloate him? Then, if an ace or possibly king falls, you can fold with confidence, and if not, you can continue extracting money from him. Any other player in there is just adding to your chances of getting drawn out on.
