inducing a bluff
Was this play too risky? i had a read on this player as loose/ very aggressive and felt i could induce a bluff by letting him see a free card, and praying it wasnt an ace.

Re: inducing a bluff
First- I think your preflop raise was a little small- I would rather throw in 3 bbs.
On the flop, I am not a fan of slowplaying overpairs- I have gotten cute and been burned too many times. Not only could any A put you behind, but there are 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] on the board as well. The turn could make his flush or complete a straight for him. I would throw out a pot-sized bet and see just how well my opponent likes his hand. |

Re: inducing a bluff
i agree. nice sized raise PF
inducing bluffs are for the river when you have a powerful hand, not when overcards and draws will do you in. I think it was a risky play, personally. Pete |

Re: inducing a bluff
Make a bigger raise preflop.
I probably check the river too. |
