Default Right Move?

I had a "feeling" this might be a winner, but remembered previous advice not to chase AK if you miss on the flop. Is a gutshot enough to chase? Certainly not against the raise I think but should I have bet it?

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (8 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG folds, Hero raises, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, CO folds, Button calls, SB calls, BB calls.

Flop: (8 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero checks, Button bets, SB raises, BB folds, Hero folds, Button calls.

Turn: (6 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB bets, Button calls.

River: (8 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB bets, Button calls.

Final Pot: 10 BB

Results in white below:
SB shows Kh Ac (straight, five high).
Button shows 2s 2c (three of a kind, twos).
Outcome: SB wins 10 BB.

Default Re: Right Move?

In hand #1, I would bet the flop. You are the PF raiser and by checking, you concede that you have high cards which you are hoping to pair or a set to slowplay. You flop bet will scare a few away and possibly take down the pot right there with one small bet. Also, it has the possibility of knocking the button out for a chance at a free card (to hit your 6 overcard outs plus the 4 gutshot outs). A check/fold after missing your outs on the turn is the easy part.

In hand #2, checkraise the turn after hitting your K. It is most likely good.
