5/10 limit hold'em game at the casino today.
UTG I had A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]-Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. I make it 2 bets to go. Player behind me makes it 3 bets, player behind him caps it off at 4 bets. A total of 6 players call the 4 bets ($20) by the time it comes back to me. I laid down the A-Qo as I felt very few flops could make me a winner against 6 players who have all showed strength pre-flop. The board ended up showing in order 3-6-Q (rainbow) -8-6. A person with pocket 3's ended up taking down the huge pot with the boat. If I would have stayed in and saw that flop it may have sucked a few more bets out of me. Anyways, was I correct, in general, to fold A-Qo when the pot was laying me 7:1 odds pre-flop to call? |

IMO it's an easy fold. Your out of position with a hand that can very easily turn into a 2nd best hand. I'd like to hear what others would do. What if it was sooted?

Suited I would have called in a second as that to me is the near perfect pocket hand against a large field. The off suit is ideally what made me fold, as it tends to only hold up better against 2-3 players.

Suited is fine, getting 11:1, you just have to be carefull if you flop TP.

Once again I need to work on my reading skills as I assumed it was folded back around to him. Suited I would call and ask the dealer to flop me quads.
What casino were you playing at and are B&M 5/10 games usually this loose? |

I think not folding there would be a decent sized mistake.
You pretty much need to flop 2 pair or hit a straight to win the hand most likely. On a related note...I have no problem folding AQo when I play online. It's an easy toss especially considering I'm multitabling...but when I went and played live again a month ago, it really hurt me to fold it...I had been getting such cold cards it was the best hand i'd seen in probably 2 hours, and I had to and did pitch it. |

11:1 with pretty good implied odds isnt enough to make you play AQs vs a 3better, a capper and some coldcallers ?
Yes, you pretty much need 2pair or better to win, but 11:1... |
