My table image might be a factor here. In my very first hand at the table I posted and picked up AKs, and 3bet an LP raiser. 2 hands later I had JJ and won a 25BB pot when I rivered quads against a flopped straight and a flopped set of tens. Not long after this I get TT twice in a row and jammed their no-overcard flops. The very next hand is this one:
Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is CO with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 raises, Hero 3-bets, Button folds, SB folds, BB folds, UTG folds, MP2 calls, MP3 caps, Hero calls, MP2 calls. Flop: (14.50 SB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) MP2 checks, MP3 bets, Hero raises, MP2 folds, MP3 3-bets, Hero calls. Turn: (10.25 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) MP3 bets, Hero calls. On the flop I thought he may have been pushing a big suited ace ([img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]s) But at this point it only makes sense for him to have an overpair. The only hand I can beat is 99. River: (12.25 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) MP3 bets, Hero calls. Final Pot: 14.25 BB I had not yet gotten involved with the villain here so I don't think he's targeting me because of my good fortunte. I often find myself in this siutation with JJ and no overcards. Did I slow down to soon here or possibly overplay? Any other comments would be cool. |

I would have played it the same. Hes representing something bigger than Jacks. Sometimes you'll see something wild here, often enough to call down. But I wouldnt keep raising.

I think you put in about the right amount of action. Your opponent keeps telling you he likes his hand, so unless you know he is a maniac, you should probably have slowed down when you did.
Good luck, play well, Bob T. |
