Re: LeBron ROY over Carmelo.
I do.
Carmelo: Better conference. Better opposition. Made the playoffs (over my Blazers ) and really carried his team down the stretch. Lebron made comments near the end like "we won't be dissapointed if we don't make the playoffs." Any other year it should go to Lebron but Carmelo Anthony this year should have been a lock. |

Re: LeBron ROY over Carmelo.
Yes! Melo' had the more impressive rookie year. It seemed to me that 'unprecedented expectations' were the reason/excuse that reporters were using to explain why Lebron deserved the ROY award. So I guess ESPN now crowns the ROY by hyping up a player in the spring and summer before the NBA season starts.
In addition, I just want to say I think that fellow NBA players and coaches should be the jury to judge who deserves what awards in their sport. I don't like the hype machine ESPN has become, and I don't like sport's writers who couldn't make their JV team in HS to judge these matters. I feel this way about all sports. |
