Default 6-max vs. full ring games

Why are there a lot of 1/2, 5/10 and 10/20 6 max games at these limits and not at the other limits? Perhaps it's a stupid question but I can't figure it out. Should I learn 6 max games before I want to move up to 5/10 or higher? It seems there are a lot less full ring games these limits. What are the differences in the way you play between 6-max and full ring games?

Thanks,

Guido

Values of weak hands go up, and small pockets expect bad beats though as the players tend to not fold anything.
