which limit 4 me?

I normally play pot limit and am visiting vegas,could you tell me what sort of limits would be the equivelant of a pot limit game, blinds 1 1 2 in limit poker (and a 2 2 5 game the same).

How much would you sit with in a limit game in relation to the big blind(i would ideally like to sit with between 500 and 1k)

Lastly what should you tip dealers from each pot you win,is there a standard %,thanks for any help

Don't know much about pot limit, but I usually sit down with 20-25 big bets in front of me. So that would put you in the 10/20, 15/30, 20/40 range. Course, if you are not that familiar with limit you might want to start with 4/8 or 5/10 and see how it goes.


Tipping: I usually tip $1, if I am playing 5/10 or higher. Sometimes I tip more if the pot is pretty big and the dealer is average or better.

Thanks for that,i think i will try 4-8 to start,see what the game is like before i play bigger.i have played some limit but not in u.s so i expect the standard to be higher there.Where are best games,is it the mirage?

You'll find 4/8 at the Bellagio. They spread 3/6 at the Mirage.

If you normally sit with 500-1000, you should play anything from 8-16 up to 15-30 (based SOLELY on the size of your buy-in). Some players might differ somewhat in their opinions, but you could probably push it up to about 20-40 if you wanted.


However, your being used to big bet poker and not limit poker might severly hamper your efforts. Limit does not play like pot or no-limit. Because of this, you might want to stick to the smaller games. I would suggest you start at 6-12 or 8-16 with 500 and see how it goes.

Thanks for the previous replies.Is there any better casino to play mid limit poker at out of the 2 or will i find the same standard and same players doing the rounds in both casinos?

Are the games looser for example?

Lastly are there any other casinos i should consider playing in.

Pot limit is regularly being spread at Binion's Horshoe during the World Series of Poker.

I will not get to vegas until after wsop so didnt know if there would be any games Dynasty,thanks anyway.
