Default speared by hooks

live single table tournament, tables playing pretty tight in general but chip leader is "running over the table doyle style".
7 handed, blinds are 40 and 80 I am short stack with about 700 everyone else slightly better off (cant remember exactly)except cl who has around 200.

I catch JJ in co
chip leader bets the pot utg all fold, I call, rest of table folds.

dealing flop 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

utg raises 3/4 of pot (he usually checks nut hands so i figure he's probably drawing) i bet the pot ( a big % of my stack)
he thinks for a long time asks me questions and all that stuff. he calls.

dealing turn Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

he checks says im lucky sob?!!
i take free card

dealing river A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

we check it down i figure hes trapping

he shows J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]10 for straight to my trips

its not a good beat but thats not the issue, should i have re raised pre flop?
also could i have represented bigger staight on turn?

any advice would be great!!

How much of a chip leader is the chip leader?

In an online SnG I would be temped to just push in PF if he is playing loose.
If not then your call is fine.

On the flop I would push in or make a bigger raise. against a loose aggressive player you want to get money in early when you are clearly ahead.

On the turn you have to check.

On the river you could make a bet but in a tournament it is probably better just to check.

just some thoughts

Tim

If he's playing Dolly style, yeah I shove it in pre-flop. Make HIM sweat the big decision (just like Dolly would!)

extra info, pot limit live game, chip leader had around 2200 to my 700 (i would have pushed in if i could have).
thats partly why i wondered about preflop reraise as the pot would be bigger if i flopped something tangible against a probable draw, and therefore i could raise enough to make him really sweat.
