Default Las Vegas Trip Report (Long)

So Wednesday, March 17th, I came home from work. I packed my bags, grabbed some dinner, drank a green beer, then went to bed by 9:00 p.m. I awoke at 3:00 a.m., hopped in my truck, and started driving to Vegas.

After a quick stop in the beautiful metropolis of Barstow for fuel and fuel, I pulled into the Bellagio parking lot at 7:30 a.m., more excited than rested.

See, for 5 years now, I go out to Vegas for the first weekend of March Madness. I don't bet sports except when in Vegas, and even then don't bet much. However, Thursday was my lucky day.

I head back to the sportsbook at the Bellagio...the place is dead. One guy shooting craps, two people playing blackjack, and many silent slot machines. I take a peak into the cardroom...there's a good 1-5 stud game going, and a short 30-60 game. That's it.

Oh, but the sportsbook is overflowing. All kinds of college students, it looks like U of 'Zona is well represented here. They have a point guard named Mustafa. Based on this alone, I place a wager on the cats. I make a few bets, and two three team parlays.

What a day...I nail both parlays in the morning, and break even in my other bets. I settle into the 30-60, and go on a legit rush.

I leave to go pick up some buddies who fly in at 5:00. We grab dinner at the Buffet (I got comps from the poker room...woo hoo).

Well, you get the idea. Of course, it's only Monday, and I don't leave for another 50some hours. But I'm excited.

Gonna be a great time. Gonna see a ton of friends from college that I haven't seen since Hector was a pup. Gonna probably drink. Gonna eat. May sleep a little on Saturday.

But I doubt it.

Sound like madness? It is!!

Josh

Me and my girlfriend are arriving on the 17th also, staying until the 22nd. Can't wait. March Madness is the best sporting event around, IMHO. Hopefully the Tarheels will show up and play to their potential. Good luck to you and Joe Tall, enjoy your trips.

I said in bed by 9:00 p.m. It's 8:49, and teeth are brushed.

Oh, and to make things interesting...new woman in my life also happened to plan going to vegas this weekend (before we even met). May hamper poker plans. c'est la vie.

10 minutes til sleep. Ain't no thang.

Boo.
Yah.
Josh.
