There are quite a few of the format small pocket pair vs. suited overcards that are very close. For example:

Ac-Qc vs 2c-2s
6c-9c vs 4c-4s

Your matchup is 50.0254% for favorite, slightly closer than those suggested by MBE.

I found Ts7s 5c5h, slightly better at 50.0232% (here the overcards are favorite instead of the pair).

Is there a matchup that is 50% after the flop? If not, how close can you get?

I'll wager that there is. With two hands and the three flop cards specified, there are only 990 combinations of the other two board cards (45 x 44 / 2). There must be at least a few matchups that split these combinations 495 apiece.

Here's one that comes pretty close:

Flop is Td-9d-8d. Hands are Qs-Qc and 7h-7d.

The pocket sevens has 2 straight-flush outs, 7 flush outs, 3 straight outs, and 2 set outs, for a total of 14. If the sevens hits a set or a straight, the pocket queens has redraws to a bigger set or a bigger straight.

Overall, the QQ is a small favourite with 489 wins to 488.

The remaining 13 combinations are ties:

Ad-Kd (flush);
Ad-Qd (flush);
Kd-Qd (flush);
Qd-Jd (straight flush);
Qh-Js (straight);
Qh-Jh (straight);
Qh-Jc (straight);
7s-6s (straight);
7s-6h (straight);
7s-6c (straight);
7c-6s (straight);
7c-6h (straight); and
7c-6c (straight).

By the way, in looking for matchups that are exactly even on the flop, remember that a 13-outer will hit 48.1% of the time and a 14-outer 51.2%. So a matchup that is exactly even will almost certainly need to start with the lower-ranking hand having either 13 outs plus a bunch of backdoor draws, or 14 outs but subject to a bunch of redraws.

Here's a close example based on a 13-outer plus backdoor draws:

Flop is 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], hands are 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].

The 4-2 is a 498:492 favourite (no ties possible).

This variation is a bit closer:

Flop is 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], hands are 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].

The 4-2 is a 497:493 favourite (no ties possible).

M.B.E,

I thought it before and now I am convinced. You have a very big brain.

You must also have some free time on your hands.
