Default Doc Watson and Chet Atkins

Doc Watson and Chet Atkins made an album in ~1980 called: Reflections. I think it was their first and maybe only collaboration. You can get it on CD from Sugar Hill records. It is an excellent recording with superb guitar picking (dill pickle rag is a good example). It also contains a few vocal tunes that are very good. But the real joy is listening to these legendary guitar players do some picking together. The only drawback to the album is that it is way to short, only ten cuts. I use have an old 1970's vinyl album of Doc Watson but I was a fool and sold it a few years ago along with a bunch of other old vinyl stuff. I was probably drunk and insane at the time.

One of my favorite vinyl Doc Watson albums was Strictly Instrumental. No vocals, just him, Earl Scruggs and Lester Flatt.
