Default Why stand in line to see a movie?

Why not wait until its been out for a few months? Locally people are standing in line to purchase advance tickets for The Passion only to endure even longer lines when the movie opens. Am I the only one who goes nuts in crowds? Please provide some insight.

The main reason not to wait a few months, or even a few weeks, to see a film is so that you can discuss the film with others. If you wait to long, the discussion is over for most people.

The only film I ever waited in any line to see was Return of the Jedi.
