Finally finished my first homemade poker table...
It took long enough..from early December to be exact, partly due to figuring out how to manufacture a rail, and partly b/c Ive been too busy to devote alot of time to it. But anyways, here it is, and no its not for sale, cause even at 1 dollar an hour, my labor cost on this thing would be thru the roof considering how long it took me (b/c ive never built anything with wood before)

Thanks. We really had a blast with my first 9 player live tourney at the house. We set up the blinds/starting chips very similiar to the WSOP (only rising quicker). It lasted about 6 hours which was about perfect. Unfortunately, I went out 6th at my own tourney when I flopped a boat from the BB and checked giving my sole opponent the straight-flush on the turn. hey man, awesome table!!! couple of questions since i am in the middle of building a table myself. What type of fabric did you use for your surface and what type of foam did you use. Also, did you make your rails or did you order them from casinosupply.com. If you did make them, how did you do it? thanks for any help, and again..awesome table and chips...by the way...hwo much did the chips run ya?

The table surface is speed cloth and the undertable padding from casino supply. The rail well, the rail is my own design but I cant recommend going this route b/c it took far longer to do the rail than it did to build the table, but Ill tell you anyway. I cut a ring or halo for the rail from particle board 1/2 thick by 3 inches wide. I then took pipe insulation foam, cut it 2 inches wide and hot glued it on top on the rail all the way around. Next I took about a 4inch wide piece of the same foam and wrapped it over and around the side of the rail and glued it on the sides. This gave that domed shape I needed. Next I bought some stuff from the local fabric shop (JoAnn's) called whisper quiet. Its actually vinyl but feels like really soft leather and had the texture I was looking for. I cut it out to fit the rail and then pulled and tightened it over the foam using approximately 2,500 staples. It was a real pain in the butt, but the result is much better than that rubber rail you could buy from casino supply. If you go this route, use pipe insulation foam from home depot, after many tries, this is the foam with the perfect density and not much memory...Oh and the chips I caught on closeout b/c of the new law that they cannot be sold to individuals anymore. I think I payed around $300 dollars for 600 chips.
