Default I suck, I\'m out.

Well my NL lessons are coming hard and fast.

It's the small preflop raise that killed me here.

2 table $10 2+2 SnG on Stars

Level 50/100

UTG(T2865) raise to 200. All fold to me in the BB w/K9s, we are 5 handed, I call.

UTG has me covered by T185.

It's the small raise preflop that I can't interpet.

Flop comes K85r - none of my suit.

I bet 500, UTG flat calls.

Turn: 5

I check, UTG baits the trap and checks.

River:3

I can't help myself and push-in, he calls, flips over AK and I'm out.

My aggressive-limit-ego just kills me again.

Comments appreciated.

Peace,
Joe Talll

I don't like this call at all. As you found out, kicker is absolutely central to no limit. You do NOT want to pour all of your money into the pot to find out you are outkicked. That's a great way to go broke.

In this context, this is a fold-every-time hand, IMO.

In general, if you have to flop two-pair to feel comfortable pushing in, don't get involved in the hand.

Default I agree

preflop call was not good, UTG min raise would make me think he has a really good hand. The min raise is intended to get at least some callers. Always fear the UTG raise, small or big, more so small, IMHO.
if you do play this hand, and if is the key word, you would probably need two pair to push, especially when the preflop raiser checks to you and then quick calls.
