Default Do i raise on the flop here?

Im on the button, four limpers before me so i decide to play my T9o (i only play this with at least four maybe five callers). I flop an open ended straight draw. Do i raise when blinds check then one bet then a call to me??

i think it depends whether or not players will call two cold, if they will then i think a bet is very good as it could get you a free card on the turn if you need it. If a raise will fold most of the players i would probably just call to get more callers so that i have odds to draw again if i miss turn...

definitly raise when your on the button with flush draw or open end. this gives u a free card if u dont hit your draw on the turn.

I would muck preflop and dont think I would have raised on the flop.

Hi foofighter,

I doubt that many players on these forums have the post-Flop skill to play T9o on the Button for profit. I would definitely fold it pre-Flop, and you need to be folding hands like JTo here as well. On the Flop, whether or not to raise I think depends on two things:

1) How likely are the blinds to call 2 cold with any piece of the Flop.
2) How likely are you to buy a free card with your raise.

The pot is small, so I generally lean towards just calling and letting the blinds come in if they want to. However, if they are just as likely to call 2 bets as 1 if they hit a piece of the Flop, then you have a definite raise for value. Also, if your raise is likely to buy you a free card on the Turn, then that adds more merit to raising.
