Re: how tight is too tight?
Conventional Wisdom is it's almost impossible to be too tight preflop. While that's probably not true, how tight is too tight you will get "DEPENDS". Depends on your skill, Depends on the table conditions, Depends on your opponents, etc.
I'll throw this example out ... it was a person that read or heard some 'Phil Helmuth advice' and was trying to play only the 'Top 10 Hands' like 'the Pros'. I actually think as people first hear about Poker Books or see soundbites on WPT and WSOP No-Limit Tourneys on TV this will be a pretty common mistake |

under 30% is definitely too tight unless you can beat a tight game well.

Re: how tight is too tight?
yeah, i wouldn't go that far, and even if i did i certainly wouldn't play them like phil says to. but how about NEVER playing a group 4 hand, except for blinds of course. i know you're giving up some equity, but still within reason? |

Re: how tight is too tight?
is that flop %? should be over 30? for low limit party? I know that you can win at 30% but you can win at 20% too, in my limited experience. its pretty easy to find a table where people will still call your raises cold with crap, even if you are a rock. |
