Default 99 hand UTG +2

I am UTG +2. I have 99.

UTG raises. give me 3 good reasons why I should 3-bet.
Assume my opponent plays straight forward and raises UTG with standard hands, like AK, AQ on down.

Is folding terrible??

I think this is the best fold of your 3 hands.

If UTG is an unknown player, I can't. Folding should be routine. I'd have to know that UTG is a loose raiser (ATo, smaller pairs, etc) to play.

1. People raise w/ all kinds of crap - decent chance you have the best hand.
2. You have position on him.
3. 3-betting is fun.

I like all of your reasons, but this is by far the best.

Straight forward UTG raiser? No reason to expect 100 cold callers and no 3-bet behind you? I'd fold.
