suited-connector odds question
If I held a suited connecter, what are the odds that I flop a flush draw, straight draw, straight flush draw, two pair or better made hands. I'm looking to get the odds of all these together. Thanks in advance.

Re: suited-connector odds question
Let's suppose you have a no gap suited connector (anything
from JTs to 54s so that the maximum number of straights are possible). There are C(50,3) = 19600 possible flops. Quads or full house: C(6,3) = 20 Trips: 2x3x44 = 264 Two pairs: 3x3x44 = 396 Flush(incl. straight flush): C(11,3) = 165 Flush draw: C(11,2) x 39 = 2145 The following exclude the flushes and flush draws above: Straight: 4x(64-1-3x3)= 216 (note: must exclude 4flush) Openender with no pair: 3x(7x(64-1-3x3)+2x(6x4-3)) = 1260 Pair+open ender: 2x3x3x(16-1) = 270 Double gutter: 2x(64-1-3x3) = 108 Altogether there are 4844 combinations which gives a probability of 0.24714 which is almost 1/4 of the time! Another flop that is good that I have not included is one that gives a gut shot and two overcards; obviously, that would depend on the specific holding. Anyone want to double check these figures? |
