$25 NL, .25-.50 blinds

HERO has Tc, Jh on the Button
EP calls
LP calls ($40 stack)
CO calls
HERO calls ($46 stack)
SB calls
BB checks.

FLOP: Jd, 5s, Th
SB bets 0.50
BB folds.
EP raises to 2.50
LP calls
CO folds.
HERO raises to 7 (I'll try and take this right now)
SB folds.
EP calls (4.50)
LP calls (4.50) (...or not)

TURN: 2h
EP checks.
LP bets $5
HERO raises to $15
EP folds.
LP raises allin to $32.85
HERO calls

RIVER: 3h

LP turns over QQ
HERO wins $46.85

I am surprised that you feel the raise to $7 on the flop was an attempt to take it right there. The pot was $6 to you. When you call the $2.50, that makes it $8.50, so your $4.50 raise is barely half the pot. I think a raise to $12 would be the lowest amount to expect to win it right there.

If there were a flush draw possible to go with the straight draw, then I would have said that a raise to at least $10 is really mandatory. Since there was not, I think your raise was about right, maybe just a little low.

Nice hand. Serves him right for not raising preflop, as you pointed out.
