Preflop I limped when i normally would raise with this hand because the 1 seat was making it 10 to go every hand. I planned on re-raising him and take it from there. For the first time, he limped. Other guy raised and now I want some volume with the hand and try to flop big.

Result not really important, I was really looking to see if I value this hand correctly.

Comments?

Tuco.

pre-flop: nice hand! i'd personally rather raise myself so the pot doesn't get too big preflop. even though you have a great hand that will hit a lot of nice flops, it plays better when there is still plenty or money to be bet. thus i think you made the right play by flat calling the raise, even though you probably would have gotten a decent EV by pushing in.

your best flop play depends on the caliber of the opposition. against loonies, go ahead and pot it hoping that a hand like bottom two pair or just the QT will call. against opponents who are more likely to call a smaller bet, i would consider betting half the pot or so, given that an ace and a 7 are the only turn cards that really hurt your hand badly.

Played perfect at that table. Normally raise with this hand to clean out your flush draws.

Only problem with that, especially on Party,is that most players there will gladly call a raise with any suited ace.Which is what you want most of the time, but sometimes it will bite you in the ass.Like when you flop the nut str8 with a redraw to a flush only to have it cracked by the dude that called you down the whole way with AXsXX.

Better to win a small pot than lose a big 1!

Exactly right which is why i said :

Meaning that in the party game, while I would still probably raise with this hand, its probably not a good play, because you want as much room to manuever your chips after the flop with this hand. In the stars game, my original argument about cleaning out your flush draws holds true.

But, of course, you know all this.
