not betting the flop is a good start. your chance of winning the pot now is roughly zero, and you have only eight outs, two of which put three hearts on board.
i might call on the turn if UTG is aggressive, although i am definitely out of there on the river. still, so many players love playing any two suited in this game, that i would expect him to turn over a flush. |

Leading the flop with the short end of the str8 with a possible flush probably not the best thing to do but I'm not sure over the long haul if it's an +EV play.
On the turn you made a lay down not many people would have made, so you should applaud yourself for that. |
