Default Bally\'s in Las Vegas

I was wondering if anyone could give me some info on Bally's in LV. I am going to Vegas at the end of the month and I usually stay at The Orleans. I had a room booked there but then got a letter from Bally's saying I was in there "A" list and offering me 3 free nights. They happened to be when I was planning on staying there so I cancelled my reservation with the Orleans and got a free room via Bally's. I have never stayed there. How are the rooms? The hotel? Do they have a card room? Any info anyone can provide would be appreciated.--Big Al--

Bally's does not have a poker room. However, Bally's is dead-center on the Strip and directly across the street from the Bellagio and less than a ten minute walk from the Mirage.

How are the rooms?

Pretty damn nice for free!

My wife and I stayed there a couple years ago and really enjoyed it. It's a very short walk across the bridge to the Bellagio and she really enjoyed walking through the Paris. Bally's itself is pretty uneventful - the casino is very average and there's not much going on there. We found the rooms nice with a decent view of the Eiffel Tower but mostly of the back of the Paris and the MGM in the distance. I guess it really depends on what tower they stick you in but my guess is that you won't be spending much time in there anyway.

Closest cardrooms are the Bellagio, Mirage and Monte Carlo with the MC probably being the longest walk of the 3, but all within easy walking distance. It's probably worth noting that the Flamingo has a cardroom, if you want to call it that. It's not really a room as much as it's a few tables stuck between some slot machines. I've never played there so I can't comment on the games...

Overall, I'd recommend staying there and would do so again myself. When we were there they had the tram that ran direct from Bally's to the MGM which was nice if you wanted to get to the south strip quickly. The last time I was there they had shut it down so I'm not sure about that anymore.

Good Luck!

Stayed there in October. Nowhere near as nice as Paris or Monte Carlos which are the only other two I've stayed at. Perfectly nice and all. Jut not as impressive as the other too. That being said its a very nice place.

If your comped at Ballys you can probably be comped at Paris too. Common ownership and all. Just call and if youd prefer.
But, they're connected and you can charge to your room from either or any other park place property.

To me as long as I'm on the strip its all good. easy getting from anywhere to anywhere.

Whew, thank the lord, he is not gone .... Stock rebounds.

How far from Bally's to the Monte Carlo, including the walk from Ballys to the actual Strip ?

ASK FOR A ROOM BY THE ELEVATOR !!!! I am not even close to joking, it can be a 5 minute walk if you are at the end of the hallway. Its a very good value (especially for free)

You mock, but the Monte Carlo room is very nice for LL and the floor seems genuinely helpful and tries to accomodate players. Certainly not true of "bigger" rooms.

Have you ever stayed at the MGM, that can be an all day walk from the elevator to your room near the end of the hallway
