Default QQ hand in the dark

$50 buy-in NLHE ring game at Party.

You're dealt QQ in the SB. It's folded to an opponent in EMP, who goes all-in for $30. Folded to you. You have him covered. You've only been at the table for an orbit or two, and so don't have any read on him.

You call? I called.

Default Re: QQ hand in the dark

On party I'd likely call, against competant opponents I'd usually wait for a better opportunity.

Default Spoiler, not that it should matter

He had AKo and my hand was good. Hit my set for good measure.

I agree that the table is important, especially absent any specific information about the players. My (relatively limited) experience in n/l ring games at Party has been that people tend to play middle pairs like 88-JJ too aggressively, but try and get tricky and trap people with KK and AA. I thought it was more likely that I dominated his hand than the other way around, so I called.
