Default AKo v 5 opponents?

Hi all,

I won a pot yesterday when I had AKo in the BB with 5 opponents in the pot when it got to me.

The hand was checked through to the end and I won unimproved.

I tried to work out the odds of 5 opponents all missing the 5 cards on the board and none of them having a pocket pair but I could not find a way to do it.

Any ideas?

TYIA

Trevor

The math of the random solution isnt that hard, I'll post it later. However, whatever the answer is, the "real life" occurrence is likely to be higher because the hands that are played are non-random, and if the board shows a lot of rags, there are likely to be a lot of unpaired high cards cancelling each others draws out. You had the boss of the unpaired high cards, fortunately!

A side issue is how could you let the hand go unbet for three rounds? You have position and great odds for two overcards on the flop when it has been checked to you.

TY Copenicus I look forward to the maths.

It was a tournament (level 3 now 50/100). I was in the BB so it was not checked to me on the flop except by the SB. I thought it was almost certain I was behind on the flop and I was probably drawing with 6 outs (perhaps). Also even if I was ahead now, with 5 opponents, I thought the chance of getting out alive was slim.

I am new to tournament play so perhaps my thinking is fuzzy here but I did not want to risk more chips when I thought my advantage (if any) was very small.

Cheers

Trevor
