Default break in time?

I was wondering if people have a "break in" time or a "warm up" time, as in when you first sit down and start your poker session. And during this "warm up" time, you feel as if you aren't playing at your optimal strength.

I find for me, that this period lasts about 15 minutes, during which I make questionable plays.

Any thoughts?

Logically, it makes sense. You don't know who's in what gear, who has just suffered a tough beat, who is stuck despite the two racks of chips they have, etc. Plus if there are unknown players in the game you don't know how and how well they play. There is some logic in starting out in second gear until you can "size up" the game.
