Default Phoenix Area No Limit Tournaments

I am visiting friends in Phoenix until Wednesday morning. I was hoping to play in a no limit tournament at some point before I leave. Ideally it would be approximately a $50-100 buy in without rebuys. Does anyone know a casino with tourneys that fit my schedule?

Thank you in advance.

Gila River has tournaments about in that range. They vary from week-to-week as to NL, Limit, Stud etc. There is a Monday noon tournament and a Tuesday evening. They do allow rebuys however.

Casino Arizona has bigger tournaments. You could call Fort McDowell, but I think their only tournaments are on Friday.

I haven't been to Gila River in a few months, but that was the schedule. You could call their poker rooms and get details.

1-800 WIN GILA
1-800 THE FORT
480-850-7777 for Casino Arizona.

Ragnar thank you very much for your response. I made it to Gila tonight, the 4-8 table was soft as marshmallows. Unfortunately I had to leave after an hour (but almost $200 richer). The surprising thing was I made it in only two hands. One player was posting a straddle and raising every hand.

I will try to play a tourney later this week. I enjoyed the casino in Phoenix if anyone ever gets a chance to go.

For me the surprising thing was I didn't have to post a blind when I entered in the cutoff. I have never had that happen before.

You seldom have to post in that situation at Gila River or Casino Arizona at the low limit tables. It varies from dealer to dealer though. I think they just want to encourage people to play.

Glad you did well in the game, and good luck in the tournament.
