The bookmakers are scared, too! C-U-B-S = historic calamity
Cubs were never much above .500 all year, and long odds were offered until very late.
Every tourist from Chicago would buy a futures ticket for $10, $20, $100, it didn't matter--the bookies would just grin, and would not consider lowering the price. Lots of quotes in the LV papers, from lots of nervous bookmakers, who are fearing for their professional LIVES right now.
