Re: Angle Shooting
a player is said to be 'shooting an angle' when he makes a play that is not expressly outlawed, but clearly ethically incorrect. an example is when the pot is heads-up at the end, and you bet out of turn. when your bet is ordered back, you check behind the other player who was planning to check raise. i have no idea why they allow you to pull your bet back in these situations.

Re: Angle Shooting
Another is miscalling your hand before showing it so that another guy folds his winning hand........

Re: Angle Shooting
In polite, friendly, homegames even check-raising is thought of as an angle play.

Re: Angle Shooting
This is the dumbest thing I've ever encountered. How do you play hold 'em without the ability C/R? It makes no sense.

This one happened to me
early in my poker playing career, when I was just learning. Guy said "straight" and I mucked my 2 pair. I think he didn't even HAVE a pair.
Now I make sure to see the cards (and ask to see them if not immediately shown) before I muck. |
