Default I hit my boat, now what?

Villain is fairly typical 34/12/2. Only been at the table for 3 orbits and he hasn't done anything out of line.

Well hero should have potted it PF, potted it on the flop, potted it on the turn, and potted it on the river.

Given how it was played i guess garlands right.

I like a preflop raise from SB, especially 6-handed. You need to raise more hands short-handed as hand values increases.

Check-raise the river all-in, and it's not close. Whatever he liked on the turn, he should still like on the river (unless he's bluffing, in which case you want his bluff money--or if his two pair counterfeited, which he may not call a big river bet). Betting into him on the river will make even straights call in fear of a boat. If he has top two or a lower boat, he should still bet and you will still get his $$.

I like both comments made by Garland.

Preflop and headsup, JJ is an obvious raise.

The way the hand was played check raising river seems very good here.

Raise Preflop

Disagree about with Check Raising.

I think leading out for a big bet is superior. there are range of hands which you can extract more from a lead then a C/R all-in.

Here were my thoughts: I always have trouble with JJ OOP so I limp it half the time, sounds like I need to toughen up. I definitely should have potted the flop. No excuses. The turn, I was pretty sure I was up against a straight or TP straight/flush draw. I thought calling and re-evaluating the river (check/call if I didn't hit).

Results in white:
I lead for pot on the river, and got called by K T -both spades and MHIG

Thanks.

IMO if you take the lead away from him on the river you 'll get your bet but little more.
If you risk youir bet by checking to him, and he bets, then I always take a lengthy pause ( i'm unsure of myself) and the reraise. This usually pays off handsomely.
I've been trying to "reraise right away" within 2-3 seconds, as I often see big pots created by someone else who does this. Truth is, this seldom works for me. I think my table image is that I too often have a strong hand when I raise, so a quick raise just adds to that image and they fold.
What are your thoughts here.
