($11) KQ is so purdy.
From memory.
$10+1 PP Blinds are 75/150. I'm estimating stack sizes of the others not involved but they are very close. UTG t2400 MP t650 Bttn t2000 SB t1500 Hero BB t900 Hero is BB with KQo UTG raises t300, 3 folds, Hero? UTG was by far the loosest player at the table and had VPIP over 50%. The minraise threw me. I think a push is mandatory for me in this spot, but I'm not sure if folding is OK. I have 750 after posting. |

Re: ($11) KQ is so purdy.
You say UTG is very loose, but is he raising much? If he's been loose-passive, then this raise scares me. You'll surely be called if you push, and I doubt there's much he's raising with that you beat. Probably a race if you're lucky. I fold.

You're screwed, and this is a decent/good hand. I'd call and push any flop that doesn't contain K/Q high.

I don't mind calling here and pushing anything w/o a K/Q, which you're check-raising all in. The only flops I wouldn't like would be ragged aces, but maybe he has a big pair and would fold. I'd say this strategy is equally if not more valid. |

Your getting over 3 to 1 to call? I think you called it right.. Stop and Go. 600 still enough chips to play with if the flop comes out bad..

Yeah this is one of the view spots I'll consider a stop and go.

Yeah this is one of the view spots I'll consider a stop and go. [/ QUOTE ] Could you elaborate on what it is about this spot that makes you consider a stop and go (or what your general criteria is for a stop and go)? I never think to use the stop and go and think I'm missing out on a lot of opportunities. |

I never think to use the stop and go and think I'm missing out on a lot of opportunities. [/ QUOTE ] Basically it's when you think you have no fold equity preflop but you think you can get the Villian to make a bad fold post flop. For example, a player raised to 3xBB at the final three tables of the 2005 WSOP. A shortstacked Greg Raymer called with A9, rather than pushing preflop. The flop came KK7, and it turned out that the Villian had 55. A lot of players muck the 55 there (and it's possible he would have on a KQ7 board). But the 55 definitely should call the preflop allin, no question. |
