Default How do you apply the 10xbb rule in a pot limit tournament?

The question is kinda in the title there guys.

for example

Blinds 50/100

Hero is in ep with 800 and is dealt aqo

normally i would go all-in here, but in a pot limit tournament i think my maximum bet is 350.

this does make me pot committed to all but the most horrible flops i suppose but in general how do players alter the 10xbb rule to pot limit tournaments???

Also does anyone know a simply way to calculate maximum bet sizes in pot limit? I really should know it but just rely on the software to do it. But i have a live tourney coming up which is pot limit and i sort of need to know before i play it.

Cheers guys, forgive my ignorance.

P.s. i have posted this in both mtt forum and stt forum as i feel it is relevant to both.

I'm more passive in this scenario, I usually call and try to see a flop for cheap and if I like it THEN push.

Usually when you are that short in a PL tournament you should limp or min-raise preflop (depending on how that action will influence the play of the table) and then push/fold post flop.

I rarely ever make a pot sized raise in PL poker preflop for reasons that are well beyond the scope of this post. Ferguson has commented a ton on this, calling the concept "exponential growth of the pot."

If you are opening: 3XBB + SB is the max bet.

If there is another player, you add their bet to that amount.

In live action, the way you do it is to announce your raise, and then place the amount of the call in the pot. You can then quickly add up all the money in the pot and then count out any raise up to that amount. This is not a string raise, and is the "correct" way to bet in pot limit poker.
