Small/Medium Pocket Pairs vs 2 Overcards
Am i correct when thinking that small/medium pocket pairs are about even odds of winning a hand heads up against 2 overcards to the pair?
It really shouldnt matter how much of a difference, right? Like say 44 against AK. Isnt that about the same as 44 against K8? Thanks! |

Re: Small/Medium Pocket Pairs vs 2 Overcards
It varies slightly, but any pair is about an 11-9 favorite over any 2 overcards.

Re: Small/Medium Pocket Pairs vs 2 Overcards
Watch out if they are connectors/suited connectors, that dont need your pair for the straight or flush. Eg. JTs vs 66, the 66 is actually a slight underdog.

Re: Small/Medium Pocket Pairs vs 2 Overcards
Actually QQ vs AK is much better than 22 vs AK. Have you ever noticed how small pairs lose when two pairs come on the flop? No help for either player but the Aces win with the highest kicker. Through a simulator I got 56.7% for QQ vs AKo and 51.2% for 22.
