Default AK near bubble - Stars 20 table SnG

Did I commit myslef with the continuation bet? (There's about 24 players left, money at 18.)

Huge raise preflop. Why raise so much?

I think you almost have to fold here. Even if you do get lucky and hit the turn or river, you're likely to be beat already by AA KK or any 3.

With 2 limpers, I guess a standard raise would be t2000 (3x bb + n limpers) but I don't think making it t2500 makes it huge. I wouldn't mind taking the pot preflop. My table image has been relatively tight aggressive and I've shown down good hands.

Well here's my thinking you can take it for what you will:

A raise to 1600 wouldn't scare anyone out of the pot, but what it would do is leave you room to fold the flop if you don't hit it. Near the bubble you're not really wanting to make continuation bets of this size. It's too deadly to your stack and you put yourself into a tough spot. So a smaller raise preflop should make it easier to get away from the hand.
