The kindness of strangers (very low content)
PartyPoker $30+$3 NLHE MTT, yesterday morning. Top 50 finish in the money, there are 51 players left and I'm the short stack in the tournament with 500 in chips. Blinds are 400-800.
The big blind hits me, forcing in my whole T500 with T3o. It folds around to the SB, a big stack, who only needs to put in T100 to call the T900-pot. He hesitates, and I type "C'mon, fold." He thinks for a bit, says he has A7, and folds. Me: "Thank you, thank you, thank you." I folded my small blind next hand, of course, and the hand after that we were in the money. Ironically, five orbits later I had an average stack, and the big stack who took pity on me was busted out. I wound up finishing about 18th. No real point here, except that that guy was more compassionate than I would have considered being, and that $124 is better than $0. Thanks again buddy, wherever you are. |
