30/60 heads up stud high hand
$3 ante $15 bring in. Opponent is loose and semi passive. He likes to slowplay big pairs until 5th and has been know to make some seemingly random bluffs. I have played a couple thousand hands with him in the passed, and think he is pretty tricky and he knows I am very agressive. He is not known to tilt, but he has just lost 1 or 2K and has just reloaded for the 2nd time.

Re: 30/60 heads up stud high hand
Raises.. and prepares to 4 bet bluff if necessary. I think the important thing to realize here is that he called you on 5th. I think he raises 4th if he has an OESD.. I think he has some kind of a pair.. Were you playing the MadCow? I'm drunk. |

Re: 30/60 heads up stud high hand
The 4 bet bluff is standard, but the initial value raise seems a bit risky.
What is an OESD? Madcow won't play me heads up on Pacific...but amusingly he will play me on pokerstars. I wish I was drunk. |

Before I see the results, I believe you are correct to trust your read & call him on 6th & 7th like you did. Good job.

Re: 30/60 heads up stud high hand
If call---$480 in pot, I don't think your hand is good 1 in 8.
If raise---$120 to make $480, I don't think you'll win one in four, the raise is too obvious. The hand busted by the river, and sometimes there is nothing you can do. In this spot I'd save the last bet (or two, or three, or four). |

RESULTS
I made a crying call on the river, hoping he had just a busted str8 draw or some face cards in the hole since it looked like I was on a flush draw. If I didn't have the K to go with my A, I'd probably just fold and maybe raise a small percent of the time. The opponent had Kh 6s in the hole and caught a useless 7d on the river, giving me barely the best hand with my J kicker.
