Default middle pocket pairs facing a raise

How do you play pocket pairs 5s-9s in the middle of a SNG, blinds 25-50 or 50-100, when you have a middle stack and another average stack raises.

Like this situation:
Player 1 (2000)
Player 2 (1500)
Player 3 (900)
Player 4 (2200)SB
Hero (1400)BB

blinds 50/100
Player 2 raises to 400 and everyone folds to Hero.

Default Re: middle pocket pairs facing a raise

I'd fold them. With 3 people left to call, odds are he has a hand. If he has 99-AA, you are screwed. A9/KT/QJ, you have a coinflip.

Best time to have medium pairs on the BB is when you have multiple limpers calling to you. Then you call and hope for a set, or get out. When you flop the set, you stand to make a LOT of money. In that case, just don't give any straight/flush draws the right pot odds to call.
