Etiquette question

A man is first to arrive at the door of a coffee shop, followed shortly by a woman with whom he is unaquainted. He politely opens the door for her

so that she may pass through before him. Is it appropriate or inappropriate for the woman to then take her place in the coffee line before him?

She should offer.He should demur.
