Default Another chop block?

Villian has been playing kinda laggy and I don't think he's all that good. I haven't been with him for too long and that's all I have of him. In hindsight, I should have check/called the river but I was so confident that he had a mid pair that I wanted to make sure he would call something on the river instead of it getting checked down. I hate this spot and get shown quads or a higher full too often for me to think about.

The kicker here is that as my time is running out for me to call, villian types "aces split?" in chat. Did I mention chat tells confuse me? It's ~$780 for the river call.
