Turn: (6.75 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero.... Button is 82/8/1.2 over about 40 hands I am trying to figure out the best way I could have played this hand. Preflop I am obviously fine. On the flop I think I am okay leading out. I don't have any idea what the button has because he plays almost every hand. He calls down a lot and I am almost certain I am ahead. I had been playing a lot of hands at this table and he could be raising with a wide range of hands none of which I am concerned about because of potential domination or the spade draw. I think my reraise is good. Can a case be made for a call and check raise on the turn? The turn is my big question. Do we get tricky here and go for the check raise or lead out? My concern was that the 3 flush would freeze him, and he wouldn't bet. |

The flop is fine, not 3 betting the flop would be a huge mistake.
On the turn you need to bet out. There really isn't any reason to think Button would bet with just a weak king now. I think you'll get a lot more value betting and getting raised here so you can three bet. |

Just bet, baby. [/ QUOTE ] There's only one button you need for this hand, and it ain't the fold button. |

(just kidding in case anyone didn't know) Thanks for your help guys. I really appreciate the input. I didn't hate leading out but wanted to see if anyone could make a case for the c/r. |

I think sometimes I am tempted to fall into the fancy player syndrome. I try and get too tricky. For a moment, I thought about calling the raise and check raising the turn no matter what (I am especially happy if a spade comes).

He won't be sure you have the flush since you three bet without it on the flop. He's not as likely to bet since you were the bigger flop aggressor also. |
