Default Help with paint (pic of hot chick included)

OK first off I [censored] hate to paint. The lighting is always [censored] with the colors and I always wind up with more on my self than on the walls.

So I decide to finish a paint job that was halted a year and a half ago when I ran out of paint. So I go to the local Menards (a hardware store chain in MI) and retrieve paint samples. I find one that looks to be pretty close to the paint already on the walls. Since all that is needed is one final coat of paint, I figure it doesn't have to be perfect.

So I buy the paint. I start to slap it on the walls and I discover that the color is grossly different than the sample and much different than the color of the original paint.

The other colors are a maroon/wine color, and the top of the main wall is a grey, granite textured paint. The floors have no coverings as of yet.

So, do you think I outta just go with the color I have, or does it look too gay for my man-room? I personally hate it, and I am not going for a tropical theme so I don't think it's going to fly.

Here is the color of the felt of my poker table

And here is a wallpaper border that is going up across the center of the wall dividing the grey and green colors.

And to show my appreciation in advance...

Thanks

PG

If you go to Home Depot and talk to those ladies behind the paint counter and ask them to put together a palette of 3 complimentary colors for you. Sly Fox Red would be a good main color off the top of my head.

Also, hire painters. They are cheeeeep.

Actually, I was painting and ran out. Then I got divorced, and lived in an apartment for a year. I got the house in the settlement earlier this year. Time to finish some of the crap that has lingered forever.

Did they mix this or was it premixed? I actually work at a small hardware store and know how to mix paint. I always test it afterwards and use a blowdryer to dry it. Ask the people at Menards (which is a national chain, I believe. We have them in WI) if they can test the color before you buy it. Always check in an inconspicous spot first.

And if you don't like the color, why would you want to keep it on there?
