15/30 Party Poker... Limp Reraise with Aces.
I'm ok with the limp reraise here. My main question is what to do on the turn here. It doesn't seem that I'm really beating too many hands here. What should I have done? Did I totally butcher this? Thanks, beer. Re: 15/30 Party Poker... Limp Reraise with Aces.
I honestly believe there are some hands in limit hold'em that you are doomed to lose. This may be one of them.
Hands you can't beat: 10-10 9-9 K-K A-Q K-Q Q-J Q-10 Q-9 J-J K-J K-10 K-9 Lots of others, and any two hearts. Other than that, I'm not good enough to tell you how you should have played this, other than I don't limp re-raise with AA in limit hold'em. |

I dont think you can give up the lead on the turn, and i probably wouldnt have, yes, it is a scary card, but when you give up, he has a chance to take it away from you, which he didn't, but i figure the only hand he's betting that you're beating on the turn is AK. I think if you do get raised on the turn, you can fold.

Re: 15/30 Party Poker... Limp Reraise with Aces.
In general giving up the momentum on scary boards is a bad idea, but I don't totally hate it here. If you bet and fold to a raise, you are giving up some decent equity, especially if he only has 2 pair. Even vs. a set you have 6 outs. Any queen is bad news, and AQ horrible, but I think you'll get raised by more than this. It may depend on the player's standards for raising preflop after a limper; you didn't tell us anything about the player.

against an average player, i think bet-folding the turn is the standard move. any read on this guy's aggression?

Why didn't you bet the turn? If he has a Queen he'll raise you and you can either call it down or fold. By checking into him he will either suspect the checkraise with a drawing hand and check behind, or will bluff you, or semibluff .... Either situation sucks.
