Default Abstaining

My wife asked me what I thought about Bush wanting to spend $135 million on a campaign for abstinence. I hadn't heard of it. Apparently the ads won't mention condoms or birth control. Do you think it's a waste of our money? And one other thing, what do you think about the odds of either of the Bush daughter's hymens being intact? They're not married, right?

just because they're presidential daughters doesn't mean they should be subject to public speculation about their virginity.

Boris is right here. Your comment about Bush's daughters is inappropriate. I think you can question the wisdom of spending millions on a stupid program without going into that. I don't agree with a lot of government spending (and think absitence campaigns are pretty dumb). But don't bring people's family into it. If anything, if you don't like a politician you might feel sorry for what his kids go through. Being a president's kid is unbelievably difficult. They didn't ask for publicity and their sexual experience is irrelevant anyway.

O.K., my bad. Does anybody know how to edit posts once you put something regrettable up? My point was that I would be willing to bet money on the fact that they're not virgins(I'll speculate on it in a less offensive manner). So who the hell does Bush think he is to take our hard earned money and piss it away on something so ridiculous? The moral implication bothers me more than the money, though. It looks like in this case, the Church and State are one entity.

If true it's an absurd waste of money.

Default Wish he\'d abstain from wasting our money

This is a minor example of Bush's wasteful socialist ways...not as constitutionally troubling as his desire to fund government approved "faith-based initiatives."

Find,in the constitution, the exact quote that says there needs to be a separation of church and state!!! I'm so tired of uniformed people about this subject that was put into our american sy-kee By the media over the years.

I'll tell you straight up. I voted for Bush. In some cases he has Rocked! In some cases he has Sucked. Don't call him a socialist. Don't call him a centrist. Call him a compromise professional. He is reaching in all directions. Which at first, really dicked me off. Then I realized,it's not all political with him. He's mixing it up. Like the High Desert Poker Man,in a high limit game(like he'd play anything else)da.

He has kept EVERYBODY,EVERY COUNTRY,EVERY LEADER,one decision away from tilt. You know who THis country should really miss?...Henry Kissinger. And Bush kinda reminds me of HK.

As far as The Presidents Daughters go...would you say NO to either of them?

Hell,I still mention my penetration of my High Schools Nobel Laureate(spelling). She was the school newspapers editor, the band leader playing (skin)flute, glee club,4.0 grade average, and all that you can be as a senior in HS.I was just another Longhair. A nobody. What the hell was she doing with me? Her and I were one of the most unlikely pair on the planet. But what does that mean NOW. 30 years later? Nothing. when Bushs' daughters are old and grey, the only people that will mention their lack of their virginity will be the lucky guys who got into their pants.

And as far as the legislation goes.

If I was a politician, presenting legislation concerning the conservation of fuel...I would not take my 87 cadillac into consideration.I would not take my '57 chev into consideration.I would be thinking about the big picture.

Thanks

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion..."

When congress gives our tax money to religious organizations of which it approves, I believe this constitutes an "establishment of religion." It is not necessary that the selected religion change it's name to "Bushism."
