Default The Next Hot Sector

I don't care what the economic environment, somebody has to do well. During the Internet, it was just so easy to pick Internet, everybody was right.

But what I'm wondering is, can anybody tell me what he thinks the best-performing sector, earnings-surprise-wise, will be in the next 5 years? Any answer will basically tell a lot about what you think about the economy.

But what's more bothering me is this suspicion that the next "hot" sector will be something so totally out-of-the-blue that I can't possibly think of it myself.

So, I'm asking for your help.

Maybe, somebody who visits this site will be just stupid enough to come up with the right one. I'm just hoping to get a few odd candidates to think about.

Airlines?

Thanks!

How about this: With all the new internet companies that will expand and China joining the WTO the new wave will be companies that get products from point A to point B quickly and cheaply. So all the sundry shipping companies. From planes, trains, boats, autos, and Ups types, to mules and bicyles. Just food for thought.

Pharmecuticals. If you look at the average age of Americans, you'll understand that we all will be popping pills soon.

Abbott (ABT) has performed outstandingly...always has for me.

Baxter (BAX) outperformed even Abbott this year.

Abbott makes not only pharmecuticals, but hospital equipment, supplies..etc. You won't visit a hospital or doctor's office without Abbott getting a piece of you from the syringe to the the swab to clean the injection site. Also Abbott manufactures products like Ensure vitamin supplement. Check out their stats.

Whatever route you choose..diversify diversify diversify.

Walmart is a safe bet. Walgreens is doing wonderfully and I kinda like Dell.
