Default Cable Boxes

Just wondering if anyone here uses one, thinking about getting one but heard that they no longer work with digital signals.

I live in Queens, NY and have cable modem service, will a box work? what are the chances of getting caught? how can i get caught? thanks

'black' box, is what you're talking about...

Everyone that has cable, has a cable box.

and i duunno if they still work, i'd assume they do.

Digital Cable uses ID cards doesnt it? you can get card writers for stealing Direct TV, i'd imagine you could for digital too.

i dont think they work anymore now that most places have digital cable only.

i remember the cable guy telling me that digital cable boxes had IP addresses.. i don't think it'd be possible to hook a random box up to a cable and have it work. but i could be wrong.
