will Brunson/chan WSOP dominance ever be repeated?
Doyle Brunson and johnnie chan each won wsop two years in a row and came in second the year after.
That is not luck..that is pure dominance. And obviously with the ever expanding fields i doubt that will ever be duplicated (although raymer did tease us this year) Anyways, how can they so dominant for a 4 year stretch, and then never come close again. What is closest either of them have come since then in Main event? |

The closest either had come to the Main Event title since each respective run has been seventh for Chan (1992) and third for Brunson (1983). Brunson also has fourth- and 16th-place finishes as well, plus the aforementioned two wins and runner-up spots. |

If the poker boom dies off, we'll have a [censored] load of amazing players and smaller fields 10 yrs from now.

The poker boom will never die off. People are not going to stop playing poker. It's here to stay.

i agree poker is here to stay, and it will always be a mainstream thing from now on.
However, the "boom" will slow down as the growth rate levels off. Eventually most people will have tried it and signed up on a site somewhere, and once novelty of the game to them fades, we could even see some numbers drop over the years. Not everyone is so in love with the game as we are here. |

Given your avatar, should you be using words like 'burst?'

[/ QUOTE ] The US Government will likely kill online poker in time. But not yet. And it will become less and less lucrative. But just like 10 years ago, you'll always be able to find a game somewhere. ~D |

I think Hachem will definitely repeat, maybe even three-peat.
