Yeah when you are outchipped 3:1 by both players ITM, you should be playing your cards like you would in a cash game (i.e. be very aggressive in marginal spots). Hand values aren't adversely affected by wide calling ranges as they would be if the stacks were say 5k/1.8k/1.2k. Push away dude.

The idea is that it is much easier to play in this spot then in a typical STT situation. Say that you are playing in a cash game where the blinds are $10/$20, you have $800 in the SB and the BB has you covered. All fold to you with 44 and you are forced to either move in or fold (this is mainly what I was driving at). You should move in since it is the +EV play no matter what the BB decides to call with (as the K/S value would predict).

In an STT it becomes far more complex since it depends on many other factors. There are lots of times where you would fold 44 (instead of push) with 40bb behind in the SB (when the BB has you covered). It is a very easy hand to play in a cash game since you just move in and collect. In an SNG you have to look at chip stacks and people remaining and calling ranges to see if pushing is better then folding. The idea is that an K/S values are fairly accurate when you are a 3:1 dog ITM. They are obviously more accurate when you have a monster chip lead ITM, but they do a pretty good job here as well.
