Pre-flop fold or ok?
Online .25/.50 game on Poker Stars. Loose aggressive at times and loose passive at others.
Two hands (one real short) I am BB with 7h-7c Betting goes: UTG calls/call/call/call/call/raise/fold/SB re-raises and I folded. To passive? The re-raise from the SB made me think I was behind in this hand. Results of this hand. 2h-5h-J-h(4c)(9h). Raiser had Ah-Jh (winner),SB (re-raiser)had 4-4 Second Hand: I am LEP with 2s-2h. Preflop:UTG fold/EP calls/I call/call/fold/fold/LP calls/button calls/SB calls/BB checks. 7 to see the flop Flop: 8c-5s-Ks flush/str8 draws possible blinds check/I check/check/bets/call/fold/fold/call/I call (getting 10-1)/call. Turn:2c Betting goes:check/check/I check(hoping to cr/check/ bet/call/call/I raise and get 2 callers all others fold. River:10h I bet and everyone folds. Comments on all streets appreciated. On the night I saw 69% of the flops in BB and 24% in other positions. |

Re: Pre-flop fold or ok?
I would have called with the 77 in the BB. You will be getting enough players in the hand to make it worth your while for your set-flopping.
I think your flop call with 22 was very dubious indeed, though... you are 22.5-1 to hit your set, and you are only getting 10-1 from the pot. This is a classic situation of missing your set and folding on the flop. You've gotta fold, man. |

Re: Pre-flop fold or ok?
On the first hand, just take notes on the SB. Your fold is OK.
On the second hand, 10-1 isn't enough to take one off hoping to hit the set. You'd need massive implied odds to make up for the deficit, and I don't think you had them here. al |
